My Take: 

The Rape Trial by Bidisha Ghosal, by the title itself anyone can say that this book is going to be sensitive and definitely it will be a book with flaws of the society and how can we as an individual should take a step ahead towards betterment and an eye-opening book. 

I found this book even more bold and powerful than I thought it would be. The first thing that definitely caught my attention was the writing style of the author. I have not seen many bold writers and this book is a great example of those books that makes you wanna do something to change the thinking of society. The author Bidisha Ghosal, wasn’t hesitant about writing the flaws about our society, law and about individuals that turn their eyes to the things that may affect their status. 

While reading this book I myself felt many emotions, pain, anger, confusion with the great narrator. I was intrigued by the narrative skills of the author Bidisha Ghosal. 

The story-line was no doubt impressive, sensitive and full of different emotions. All the characters were defined well and the questions raised for their morality did make me wonder about our society in general. The confusion that one goes through knowing that someone they knew or thought they knew is a rapist is represented in a rational way. The decision of not being a silent spectator and taking it upon themselves to expose the true face of the culprit is just inspiring. 

The most highlight of the book is the way the author Bidisha Ghosal has expressed the emotions and feelings of every aspect, from the courtroom discussion to the victim shaming. From making rape jokes to the culprit getting away. From the battle for justice to emotional outbursts. Everything in this book made me cry and mostly I wanted to speak out my thoughts aloud. 

Overall a book with powerful morals against the society and the law. I would recommend everyone to read this book and make them understand that it's time to change and the change starts from changing the way we think.
