Author's Interview With Sheldon Townsend.

Author's Interview With Sheldon Townsend.
First, before we move forward with our Author's Interview, I would like to start with an introduction.

1. Could you please introduce yourself to us?

I am S. Evan Townsend, a writer of science fiction and fantasy. After spending four years in the U.S. Army in the Military Intelligence branch, he returned to civilian life and college to earn a B.S. in Forest Resources from the University of Washington. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, driving (sometimes on a racetrack), meeting people, and talking with friends. He is in a 12-step program for Starbucks addiction. Evan lives in central Washington State with his wife and has three grown sons and one cute and smart grandson. He enjoys science fiction, fantasy, history, politics, cars, and travel. He currently has fifteen published fantasy and science fiction novels. You can learn more about him at his website sevantownsend.com.

2. Congratulations on your book. So what inspired you to write this book?

A friend's book talked about how aiming an asteroid at Earth was an act of aggression. He had aliens doing it. I decided to have humans do it.

3. What is the book all about?

A terrorist group hijacks an asteroid in near Earth orbit and aims it at a major world capital. The race is now on for NASA astronauts to divert the rock before it causes 30 million casualties.

4. Why did you choose this genre for your book?

I almost always write science fiction. So that's why I chose this genre.

5. How much time did it take to complete this book?

It took about a year. There was lots of research (and math). I got the first draft done in about three months, but then there's editing and revising and beta reads and more editing, and so forth.

6. What makes your Book Special?

It has characters that you can relate to. Despite being hard science fiction, I have sympathetic characters.

9. What are your other hobbies besides being a talented author?

I love to read. I enjoy politics and travel. I love talking with friends. And I like to drive.

10. Last but not the least, How did you feel, while giving this interview?

Well, a little nervous, but I got through it.
