Author's Interview with Peggy Hinaekian.
First, before we move forward with our Author's Interview, I would like to start with an introduction.
1. Could you please introduce yourself to us?
My name is Peggy Hinaekian and I am an author as well as a professional artist.
2. Congratulations on your book. So what inspired you to write this book?
I have been keeping a diary since age 12 and, one day, just out of the blue, I thought of writing a novel. I was also inspired by Anais Nin.
3. What is the book all about?
It is about a young Middle Eastern woman's adventures in quest for love.
4. Why did you choose this genre for your book?
This is the only genre that I can write about. Romance, love and sex.
5. How much time did it take to complete this book?
About six months
6. What makes your Book Special?
My book is special in that it is taking place in the Middle East, Cairo to be exact, in the 1950s where there was no women's lib yet. It goes on to the 1960s Europe in full bloom of the women's liberation movement. The protagonist defies all so-called moral values to live her life as she sees fit. Non many women coming from the Middle East, dared to have sexual adventures.
7. When is your second book coming?
I have already written and published three other books. Check out my website: www.peggyhinaekian.com.
8. While writing did you get any writer's block? What is the Tip that you will give others who are facing writer's block?
I did not get writer's block. My mind is always full of anecdotes to write about. I think the best way to beat writer's block is to keep on putting your thoughts on paper.
9. What are your other hobbies besides being a talented author?
I am an artist. I have exhibited worldwide and my studio is in La Jolla, California. My art is not a hobby. It is a full time occupation together with my writing. Two of my books are illustrated with my drawings and etchings. I have also designed the covers of my books. My art website: www.peggyhinaekian.artspan.com.
10. Last but not the least, How did you feel, while giving this interview?
I felt exhilarated.
