Author's Interview With Behcet Kaya.

Author's Interview With Behcet Kaya.
First, before we move forward with our Author's Interview, I would like to start with an introduction.

1. Could you please introduce yourself to us?

Behcet Kaya I was born in northeastern Turkey. Growing up in a small village with long held traditions, my rebellious and creative nature emerged at an early age. Leaving home at fourteen, I travelled first to Istanbul and then on to London. My dream was to complete my high school education and then a college degree in engineering. While at Hatfield Polytechnic, I made my first visit to the U.S. as an exchange student with the BUNAC. I made the move to the U.S. in 1976 and became a U.S. citizen in 1985.

While living in Southern California I returned to college, graduating from CSUCI with a BA in Political Science. My wife and I currently live in the Panhandle of Florida. I have published eight novels including Voice of Conscience, Murder on the Naval Base, and Road to Siran/Erin's Story. My Jack Ludefance PI series includes Treacherous Estate, Body in the Woods, Appellate Judge, Murder in Buckhead, and Uncanny Alliance. I am currently working on my 9th novel titled, Deception.

2. Congratulations on your book. So what inspired you to write this book?

I have always wanted to write a murder mystery set in the academic world. Combining it with cryptocurrency scams seemed to be the perfect match.

3. What is the book all about?

A murder occurs at a very elite private university. The victim is no stranger to tangled webs of deception, including cryptocurrency.

4. Why did you choose this genre for your book?

I enjoy writing my PI series involving unusual murders mysteries solved by quite an interesting character, Jack Ludefance.

5. How much time did it take to complete this book?

Less than a year, but getting it edited and waiting on editorial reviews took about a year in total

6. What makes your Book Special?

I enjoy writing in what I consider the old school method mixed with a twist of new technology. My main characters, Jack Ludefance and Rudy Orcut continue to evolve in complexity.

7. When is your second book coming?

Actually, it will be my ninth novel. Deception hopefully will be completed by the end of this year. Deception will thrust Jack and Rudy into the world of Covid and the deceptions surrounding it.

8. While writing did you get any writer's block? What is the Tip that you will give others who are facing writer's block?

I don't have what I would consider writers' block. I ruminate for months on the content, on strategy, and conducting research. When it all comes together in my head, I sit down, start writing, and complete the manuscript in short time. My wife completes the first edit, then it is off to my editor in New Hampshire. .

9. What are your other hobbies besides being a talented author?

I play the violin, mastering songs like Pirates of the Caribbean, Schindler's list, and themes from Magnificent Century. My wife and I also love to travel.

10. Last but not the least, How did you feel, while giving this interview?

I found the questions both interesting and thought provoking.
