Author's Interview With Beatrice
First, before we move forward with our Author's Interview, I would like to start with an introduction.
1. Could you please introduce yourself to us?
Hello, I'm Beatrice, originally from Italy but currently residing in Australia. I've been living abroad for the past seven years. Why? Because ever since high school, I felt my place in the world wasn't there. That's why I left on my own and lived in many places. My life hasn't been very stable during this time, and I've faced difficult moments being far from my family and friends. That's why I've always found solace in my poetry and painting.
2. Congratulations on your book. So what inspired you to write this book?
I believe that inspiration came from the need to listen to myself during these changes. The desire to find open spaces led me to write, discovering metaphors for life in the simplicity of nature. Painting came later. Gratitude, for example, was born when I was in Brisbane, Queensland. I didn't know which decision to make at that moment in my life, so I took a breath and wrote that simple poem, then created the painting. I think I just wanted to remind myself of the moon's light and not lose faith, even in the toughest times.
3. What is the book all about?
Gratitude is a notebook. It’s very special to me because, as a psychology student, I want to encourage people to take a moment for themselves amidst the hustle and bustle of their day. I hope they remember what makes them happy, even when they are stressed.
4. Why did you choose this genre for your book?
Poetry and art are my passions, I think I wouldn’t be able to write in another way, maybe.
5. How much time did it take to complete this book?
I painted the cover in January. The idea for the notebooks came two months ago.
6. What makes your Book Special?
My book isn't special, but it is to me. Knowing that it is the result of what I've learned by listening to myself over the years makes it important. It's a piece of my heart that has taken shape.
7. When is your second book coming?
Very soon. The next books that will be coming are a wonderful surprise. There will be exciting new elements, very different from Gratitude.
8. While writing did you get any writer's block? What is the Tip that you will give others who are facing writer's block?
Yes, many blocks. They are the worst moments for a writer. Over time, I've learned not to force inspiration. The magic of writing is something that should flow from the soul and shouldn’t be forced. Even today, I experience significant blocks, but I’ve learned to understand that it simply isn’t the right time for me to express myself. I know for sure that it’s a temporary phase and it will pass. One piece of advice I can offer is not to be overwhelmed by anxiety about not being able to write. Instead, wait for inspiration to return, sometimes even more powerful than before.
9. What are your other hobbies besides being a talented author?
Other hobbies include traveling. I love going on road trips and exploring. I also have a deep passion for psychology. I'm currently studying for an online master's degree.
10. Last but not the least, How did you feel, while giving this interview?
I feel happy. I feel that I can express myself freely about something I love. Thank you for the opportunity.
