Author's Interview with Srilakshmi

1. Could you please introduce yourself to us?

I am a resident of Bangalore,  India. I am an interventional Cardiologist working as Head of Department of Cardiology at St. John's Medical College Hospital Bangalore. 

2. Congratulations on your book! What inspired you to write it?

The Bhagavad Gita has universal appeal. There are translations and interpretations of the Gita. There is no poetry book on the Gita. I write poems as a hobby. I was inspired to compose poems on the Gita in English.

3. What is your book about?

It is the verses of the Bhagavad Gita rendered as poetry in English

4. Why did you choose this genre for your book?

I write poems in my leisure time. I derive immense satisfaction and peace from composing poetry. Therefore, I wrote in the genre of poetry.

5. How long did it take you to complete the book?

About 3 months

6. What makes your book special?

It is special because there are no books on the Bhagavad Gita in poetry genre.

7. When can we expect your next book?

Next 6 months

8. Did you experience writer’s block while writing? What advice would you give to others who face it?

I fortunately did not face writers block. My advice is to NEVER give up writing. Just keep at it, until it resolves.

9. Besides being a talented author, what are your other hobbies?

Painting
