Author's Interview with Thom Tate.
1. Could you please introduce yourself to us?
Professionally, I am a software Sales Engineer for a mid-size global software company. I live in Georgia with my wife and two college age daughter's.
2. Congratulations on your book. So what inspired you to write this book?
A television show I saw about conspiracy theories.
3. What is the book all about?
It's about a Russian billionaire that wants to become the worlds first trillionaire and he found a very clever, but extremely destructive way to do it. Someone found out what he was doing and got involved. The story is about him trying to stop the truth from getting out and my protagonist stopping him before a cataclysmic event happens.
4. Why did you choose this genre for your book?
I have several other books in this genre with the same lead character.
5. How much time did it take to complete this book?
This book only took about 6 months. But I started from one of my existing novellas and extended it to create this novel.
6. What makes your Book Special?
I don't think it's your typical spy novel. I've had multiple reviews of past books where people feel like their watching a movie rather than reading a book. I try to be as visual as I can and write with a lot of "showing" rather than "telling" and I think this book captures that well.
7. When is your second book coming?
I am currently writing my 3rd novel, "Deep Rising" and am a little over half finished. I'd like to have this book done, edited and ready to publish by early next year. 2025
8. While writing did you get any writer's block? What is the Tip that you will give others who are facing writer's block?
Most definitely. I started writing my current novel I'm working on, Deep RIsing (DR), in 2017 and had writer's block for about 3 years. Worst ever. While I started to tackle this book again, I reworked and extended one of my novella's "Red Storm" to create "The Auroral Contingency", I rewrote another novella, "Intercept", and then took 18 months to rewrite my first novel, "Spear Garden", so I was rewriting multiple books while I was still trying to add to (DR). The way I tackle it now is I get an idea of how I want to start and then start writing. I envision that I am watching a movie and what comes to my mind, I put to paper. It literally write's itself.
9. What are your other hobbies besides being a talented author?
I coach a collegiate women's club lacrosse team and play in a men's league myself. I love to cook and work on cars as well.
10. Last but not the least, How did you feel, while giving this interview?
Fantastic!!
