Author's Interview with Rishikesh Upadhyay.
1. Could you please introduce yourself to us?
I am an Indian born at Bhanjang Basti, Haflong, a small Nepalis’ hamlet in the district headquarter of NC Hills (now Dima Hasao District), a writer and a professor by passion. I currently work for Haflong Government College as an Assistant Professor where I teach students. I earned MSc, MPhil, PhD from Assam University, and BSc Hons from Haflong Government College, India. Writing has been my passion since my post graduate, and after having written articles, stories, research articles and poems over decades, I finally decided to write books.
2. Congratulations on your book! What inspired you to write it?
Thank you so much!
I feel it necessary for others to think about plants and their environment.
3. What is your book about?
The book is about to consolidate the ideas to promote standardization of plant adaptation to these changes in the environment.
4. Why did you choose this genre for your book?
The best stories have something to say. That’s important to me.
5. How long did it take you to complete the book?
Probably three years.
6. What makes your book special?
This book is different from others in that it gives hope to a situation. It may resolves to issues related to plants and the environment.
7. When can we expect your next book?
I’m working on a couple of projects right now related to poetry and children’s, but it’s tough to disclose anything right now.
8. Did you experience writer’s block while writing? What advice would you give to others who face it?
None.
9. Besides being a talented author, what are your other hobbies?
I enjoy writing articles, research articles, book chapters, non-fiction titles, children's, poems, short stories, etc.
