Author's Interview with PS Wasu.
1. Could you please introduce yourself to us?
I was a corporate trainer from 1995 to 2016. I conducted a workshop called "The Fine Print of Life." It was a mega-mind training workshop that covered the entire gamut of what it takes to unleash human energy. It was widely acclaimed for its ability to spur individuals into transforming themselves. Participants described it as a gateway to new horizons, a redefining moment, and better than the best. In 2009, my book, based on my workshop, was published by HarperCollins. The book was also called "The Fine Print of Life." Subsequently, I wrote one novel and 4 mini books inspired by the Advaita philosophy.
2. Congratulations on your book. So what inspired you to write this book?
After my last book was published in 2018, I believed I had wrapped up that chapter of my life and found myself enveloped in silence. Time went by, and last year, during a conversation with my close friend Anoop Gupta, I shared some memories with him. It struck me suddenly that more stories were waiting to be shared. The idea of starting a blog and recounting memories every few days flitted through my mind, but it remained a vague thought.
Towards the end of last year, I wrote two articles based on my memories, and they were published in a New York-based webmag called "A Lotus in the Mud." Its founder-editor, Parveen Chopra, and I have known each other since his time as the founding editor of "Life Positive" magazine. With his ever-ebullient spirit and unwavering positivity, Parveen Chopra suggested that I compile my memories into a book.
The idea struck a chord with me, igniting a spark. I began writing in January of this year. Memories, long tucked away, resurfaced and, like scattered toys, started dancing in my mind. By the end of July, I had written around 62,000 words. Although I could have written more, I felt this was the right length for now. If the fancy strikes again, there may even be a sequel.
3. What is the book all about?
It is a collection of some of my memories, arranged chronologically.
4. Why did you choose this genre for your book?
I was flooded with memories and felt compelled to put them down.
5. How much time did it take to complete this book?
7 months.
6. What makes your Book Special?
Many readers will see themselves mirrored in these stories, recognising their own quirks and idiosyncrasies.
7. When is your second book coming?
No speculation.
8. While writing did you get any writer's block? What is the Tip that you will give others who are facing writer's block?
I did not experience any writer's block. If I had, I would have accepted it and allowed it to be there until it blew over.
9. What are your other hobbies besides being a talented author?
Reading and taking long walks.
10. Last but not the least, How did you feel, while giving this interview?
Ha ha. It is fun.
