Author's Interview with Gary Thomas Edwards.

Author's Interview with Gary Thomas Edwards.

First, before we move forward with our Author's Interview, I would like to start with an introduction.

1. Could you please introduce yourself to us?

My name is Gary Thomas Edwards. I live in Lake Tahoe in the high Sierra with my wife, Marianne. I am a writer, artist and poet who enjoys running, backpacking, skiing, motorcycles, and brewing beer.

2. Congratulations on your book. So what inspired you to write this book?

My wife is a knitter, a very good knitter. On a trip to Sint Marteen she was telling me about the history of knitting. It was in that discussion the idea came to me and was further cemented by events that occurred on our vacation.

3. What is the book all about?

A murder mystery thriller, Knitting in Jamaica weaves its way through history and the origins of knitting, as well as the art of distilling Scotch whisky.

Join Sean Morrison, Kaylee Wu, and Pistachio, as they travel from San Francisco to Jamaica and, finally, the lush Scottish Highlands, doing their best to stay alive while trying to figure out what the hell is going on and why people around them are being murdered.

Four murders, seven deaths, and three kidnappings, to be exact. Our unlikely adventurers garner help from relatives, the police, a Voodoo priestess and a Druid witch who conjure up spirits from the Scottish fog. Monstrous wolves, wild boar, dragons, even fairies (Fair Folk are summoned to aid the police in their attempt to catch the killers and shut down a massive bootlegging and counterfeit Scotch whisky operation.

Wait, did I mention the possible fifteenth-century buried treasure?

4. Why did you choose this genre for your book?

It chose me.

5. How much time did it take to complete this book?

Four months

6. What makes your Book Special?

It is an easy read like a Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys mystery but written of the adult palate

7. When is your second book coming?

The follow up, “Knitting Man” will be available for the holidays

8. While writing did you get any writer's block? What is the Tip that you will give others who are facing writer's block?

Actually, no. It was everything I could do to keep up with the ideas pouring into my head

9. What are your other hobbies besides being a talented author?

Painting (oils), poetry, skiing, running, backpacking and brewing beer

10. Last but not the least, How did you feel, while giving this interview?
