A Tall Woman of Many Talents: What It's Like to be a Modern Day Amazon Woman by Angelina Pelova.

The Story:

You don't need to be tall to appreciate this novel - but it might help. If you are tall and struggling with your height; if you have been asked whether you play basketball, what the weather is up there and what shoe size you are - you will find a lot to relate to.

This is the first novel to address tall people's issues and insecurities, their struggles to fit into a world built around the needs of much shorter people.

If you know someone who is tall, this book may help you understand them - but you will probably equally find a lot to relate to, regardless of your height. This novel is for anyone who feels different and struggles to fit in. It is aimed at everyone with a good sense of humour who can also read between the lines. The book touches on many modern day issues: body image, role of social media, immigration, discrimination in society and the workplace, romance, controlling relationships...

You will find yourself laugh and cry with Victoria whose quirky character could be called the Bridget Jones of tall people.

Too tall to fit in this world, she has many talents but doesn't even realise it. As far as she’s concerned, she's an ever-failing freak. She blames it on her height and her parents, neither of which she can do anything about. Raised by parents with high expectations and incapable of praise, she goes through life desperately trying to prove her worth. And to blend in, which for someone of her height is impossible!

Join Victoria on her painful journey to self-discovery, started by the therapy sessions offered by her boss - and see where this takes her.

My take:

A Tall Woman of Many Talents: What It's Like to be a Modern-Day Amazon Woman is the first book written the author by Angelina Pelova and it's a book that is humorous, passionate, relatable and friendly.

Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror and wished a part of you to be different? maybe a lighter skin tone, fuller lips, or maybe gain more weight or lose some. Well everyone is perfect regardless of gender, age or colour, everyone is beautiful in their way.

I liked reading this book as the author has addressed the most common issues in such an amazing way that is just applaudable. The book is written with thoughtfulness and with care. It is so relatable like how even a few words can affect anyone so deeply and the truth is we don’t even realise the pain of the other person.

The book is written with passion, and all the emotions of the characters that the author has expressed are impressively written in a lucid yet charming way. The book has a perfect balance of characters, storyline, emotions, drama, struggles, reality, surroundings, life, and universe, all in detailed writing.

Also, the part with the # dear diaries was impressive, clever and relatable. I definitely recommend others to read this book.
