Author's Interview with Ron Hanlon.

1. Could you please introduce yourself to us?

• Decorated Vietnam War Vet. 1969-70. Attached to 101st Airborne.
• Taught Jr/Sr High School. Worked for the Coca-Cola Co., Florida Power and Light, and the Frisco/Burlington Northern Railroad.
• From 1979- 2010 Owned /Pres. of HANLON HAULING INC, a lawn and tree service
• Holds two USA PATENTS.
• Hobbies: Photography, Sailing, Flying and Cruising.

2. Congratulations on your book! What inspired you to write it?

I was told I couldn't write a book. I'm 80 years old and have had the motto most of those years, was "Couldn't never did anything."

4. Why did you choose this genre for your book?

It was the story I wanted to tell

5. How long did it take you to complete the book?

I worked on Hearts Can Change in Time off and on from 1968 until 2012, the year the first edition was published. Then because the Vanity Publishing Copany I used did such a crappy job of editing the manuscript I began rewriting Hearts. The second edition had a different front cover better reflecting the "Hearts" storyline. The properly edited new addition of "Hearts" was released late 2019, ending with the words.  To Be Continued which opens the door for its sequel The Promise. Finally surrounded by the proper people to call on for help and a bit more writing knowledge, I embarked on The Promise. Most of the story already etched out on yellow legal pad,s and the rest in my mind I believed I could get it published in two years. That all changed with the declining health and passing of my wife of 42 years.

7. When can we expect your next book?

Depends on how well Hearts Can Change in Time and The Promise are received by the readers. I never wrote to be famous or rich. I had an intriguing, complex love story to tell. I think I did that in a very professional way.    

8. Did you experience writer’s block while writing? What advice would you give to others who face it?

Never had writer's block. Having time was my problem. When I sat down to write, I could write and write. Advice. Write something daily. If you don't likeit you can change it. If you like it, you are closer to the finish.  

9. Besides being a talented author, what are your other hobbies?

Talented author, I appreciate the thought. However, the jury is still out on whether that is true. 

10. Last but not least, how did you feel during this interview?

I'm honored to think that anyone really cares about what I think or do.
