Author's Interview with Getty Ambau.

1. Could you please introduce yourself to us?

2. Congratulations on your book! What inspired you to write it?

I have always wanted to be a writer. The first volume evolved from a short story I wrote for an online class. A 10-page story blossomed into a 456-page novel, which began the projected 7-volume Desta series.

3. What is your book about?

It is about an Ethiopian shepherd boy on an epic adventure to find a missing 3,000-year-old coin from King Solomon. The coin has magical powers to solve all the ills of the world. 

4. Why did you choose this genre for your book?

It's a young adult series, and it's something I naturally fell into. 

5. How long did it take you to complete the book?

The first book took me 3 years to write. I have written 6 books, one of which is to be published, and the seventh is yet to be written.

6. What makes your book special?

The settings, the stories, the cultural, geographical and the unique people elements

7. When can we expect your next book?

The sixth will hopefully be published by the end of the year, before Christmas.

8. Did you experience writer’s block while writing? What advice would you give to others who face it?

Yes, of course. Be patient with yourself, and keep going.

9. Besides being a talented author, what are your other hobbies?

My daily exercise of working out, hiking, and  driving through the countryside

10. Last but not least, how did you feel during this interview?

I felt pretty good, as the questions were pretty straightforward.
