Author's Interview with Zubair Ali
Before we dive into our exciting conversation with today’s remarkable author, let’s start by getting to know the creative mind behind the diverse and captivating stories.
1. Could you please introduce yourself to us?
Hello! I'm Zubair Ali , the author of *Till Dawn*, a collection of poems and a story that explores themes of love, suffering, life, resilience, and self-discovery through a blend of suspense. Writing has always been a passion of mine, and my journey as an author has been one of constant learning and growth. I’ve always been captivated by the complexity of human emotions, and through *Till Dawn*, I hope to offer readers a story that resonates with their own experiences of navigating the dark and the light of life. When I'm not writing, I enjoy , traveling, reading, or exploring different cultures and often spending time in my apple orchards . It's been an exciting journey to share this book with the world, and I'm grateful for the readers who've connected with the story.
2. Congratulations on your book! What inspired you to write it?
Thank you.
The inspiration for *Till Dawn* came from my fascination with the idea of self-discovery and the journey beyond the material world. In a world where we often define ourselves by external success, possessions, and societal expectations, I wanted to explore what happens when a person steps away from all of that to seek something deeper—the true essence of who they really are. My protagonist’s decision to leave behind her material life and immerse herself in the mystical world is something I see as a metaphor for all of us who, at some point, feel disconnected from our true selves and yearn for a more meaningful existence.
The inspiration also came from my own curiosity about spiritual exploration and transformation. What happens when we let go of the familiar and step into the unknown? What is the cost of such a journey, and what does it offer in return? In *Till Dawn*, the heroine embarks on this transformative path, facing challenges that not only push her limits but also lead her to rediscover her inner strength and purpose. It was important to me to show that the real journey of self-realization is not always linear—it’s messy, complex, and, at times, even painful—but ultimately, it is liberating.
Ultimately, I wrote this book to remind readers that the search for one's true self is a powerful, life-altering journey, and sometimes, we need to disconnect from everything we know in order to find what we’re truly meant to be.
3. What is your book about?
*Till Dawn* is the story of a young woman who, feeling disillusioned and trapped by the material world, decides to leave behind everything she knows in search of a deeper truth. She embarks on a transformative journey into the mystical realm, where she encounters not only new spiritual practices and teachings but also confronts her own fears, doubts, and limitations.
At its core, the book is about self-discovery and the struggle to reconnect with one’s true self in a world that often values external success over inner fulfillment. As the protagonist navigates the complexities of the mystical world, she learns to embrace uncertainty, break free from societal expectations, and, ultimately, uncover her own strength and purpose.
Till Dawn weaves together elements of spiritual exploration, personal growth, and a bit of mystery, all while showing that the path to self-realization is rarely straightforward. It’s a story that asks big questions: What does it mean to truly live authentically? How do we find peace when we strip away the external layers that define us? Through the protagonist’s journey, the book invites readers to reflect on their own relationship with the world around them and to consider what it means to live in alignment with one’s true essence.
4. Why did you choose this genre for your book?
I chose to write Till Dawn in the genre of spiritual fiction and mystical realism because it allowed me to blend the intangible aspects of human experience—like self-discovery, personal transformation, and the search for deeper meaning—with a narrative that feels both grounded and otherworldly. The mystical genre, in particular, gave me the freedom to explore complex inner landscapes and abstract concepts in a way that’s accessible and engaging for readers.
The idea of a character leaving behind the material world to embark on a journey into the unknown naturally lent itself to this genre. The mystical and spiritual elements allow for a more symbolic and layered storytelling experience, where the protagonist’s external journey mirrors her internal transformation. It’s a genre that invites readers to think beyond the surface, to question their own beliefs, and to reflect on the deeper layers of existence.
Moreover, I’ve always been drawn to stories that explore the mysteries of the human spirit, the idea of growth beyond the physical realm, and the pursuit of true self-awareness. I believe that these themes are timeless and resonate deeply with people who feel disconnected from their own sense of purpose or who are searching for answers in a world that often prioritizes materialism over inner fulfillment. This genre gave me the perfect canvas to paint that picture.
Ultimately, I chose this genre because it allowed me to weave together personal growth, mysticism, and spirituality in a way that feels authentic to the story I wanted to tell. It’s a genre that invites both introspection and adventure, and that’s what I hope readers experience when they immerse themselves in Till Dawn.
5. How long did it take you to complete the book?
It took me almost 1 year to complete this book.
6. What makes your book special?
Till Dawn is special because it blends a deeply personal journey of self-discovery with a mystical, almost otherworldly exploration of the human spirit. It’s a story that invites readers to step away from the noise of the material world and embark on a transformative path alongside the protagonist, exploring themes of inner strength, authenticity, and the search for true purpose. The book offers not just an escape, but a reflective journey that encourages introspection and connection to something greater than ourselves. It’s both an adventure and a spiritual awakening wrapped into one
7. When can we expect your next book?
The next book, you can expect it in the beginning of 2025.
8. Did you experience writer’s block while writing? What advice would you give to others who face it?
Yes, I did experience writer's block at times. My advice would be to step away from the pressure of "perfection" and allow yourself to write without judgment. Sometimes, letting ideas flow without worrying about the outcome helps break through the block. And remember, even the smallest progress is still progress.
9. Besides being a talented author, what are your other hobbies?
I often spend my spend in reading and I feel good in my apple orchards, besides that I travel a lot and feel different in exploring the different cultures.
10. Last but not least, how did you feel during this interview?
I feel excited and grateful to be able to share more about Till Dawn and the journey behind writing it. It’s always a rewarding experience to discuss something so personal, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to connect with readers and reflect on the story in new ways. It’s a bit surreal, but also deeply fulfilling.
