Author's Interview with James Azinheira.

Author's Interview with James Azinheira.
First, before we move forward with our Author's Interview, I would like to start with an introduction.

1. Could you please introduce yourself to us?

I live in Florida, USA. I spent many years as vice president of program management for a global bank. Experiences and observations into the interplay between technology and cultural intricacies, combined with an enduring passion for science, prompted me to write Alphamind. In it, I invite readers to explore the limitless possibilities born from my imagination and an optimistic view of humanity’s virtues.

2. Congratulations on your book. So what inspired you to write this book?

I have always had a passion for science, and over decades I’ve accumulated many “what ifs” as I read many books and articles about science and philosophy. Recently, a cousin of mine teasingly said. “why don’t you take these wild and crazy ideas and write them down. It could make for a good book.” So I did, and now discovered a new passion, writing.

3. What is the book all about?

Alphamind: The Collective Consciousness takes place in the near future and takes the reader through a riveting tale of breakthroughs and moral uncertainties, as a team of researchers awaken a comatose patient from a traumatic brain injury. In the aftermath of his awakening, the protagonist embarks on an emotional roller coaster of self-discovery, uncovering hidden abilities and forging a new connection to nature and an underlying force embracing all of of humanity. As his journey progresses, he must wield his newfound powers to guide humankind, untangling the paradoxes of human conflict and ultimately save humanity from an upcoming existential threat.

4. Why did you choose this genre for your book?

I love science and the potential gifts it can offer. But it can also limit your audience to like-minded enthusiasts. Through hard science fiction, one can capitalize on the entertainment value and encourage readers to open their minds to a broad range of possibilities.

5. How much time did it take to complete this book?

That's a tough question to answer. I guess decades of dreaming and six months of writing.

6. What makes your Book Special?
Hopefully, as I mentioned, the reader will be entertained while learning about some aspects of technology. It also encourages healthy debate on some controversial aspects of societal issues.

7. When is your second book coming?

I am up to Chapter 5 now. Although I am thankful for the positive reviews so far, I have learned a lot from the valuable feedback and am improving my writing style as I progress. I am adopting a more emotional thriller style in this sequel, taking the reader deeper into the hearts and souls of our unsung heroes of change.

8. While writing did you get any writer's block? What is the Tip that you will give others who are facing writer's block?

Not often due to the thrill and excitement of the experience. During those rare moments, I often prepared a broad outline on where I wanted to lead the plot, went to bed, and often the next morning detailed ideas would have emerged. My advice is to quickly take notes early in the morning as you rise, as some rather abstract ideas can quickly fade.

9. What are your other hobbies besides being a talented author?

Love the outdoors, explored the seven continents, trekked to Everest Base Camp, and K2, and even climbed a 20,000 foot mountain. The experience of meeting and interacting with different cultures is also thrilling.

10. Last but not the least, How did you feel, while giving this interview?

Surprisingly comfortable. I tend to be a dreamer, and on the introverted side, but you made it quite comfortable, thank you.
