The Last Faoii by Tahani Nelson

The Story:

The Last Faoii is the powerful and immersive introduction to the Faoii Chronicles.

The Faoii have protected Clearwall with both magic and blade for generations. But when her monastery is attacked and her sisters slaughtered, only young Kaiya is left alive.

Forced to cope without the traditions of her Order, Kaiya travels the country on a mission to avenge her sisters and preserve her heritage. The search brings her not only to dark discoveries and ancient family secrets but also to something she never wanted or dreamed of: an estranged brother.

Thrust into a war at the heart of a broken empire, the siblings face a dark past and darker future while Kaiya learns the true state of the world outside her monastery's walls, the true threat of the army seeping across the land, and her own innate abilities as the last of her kind.

If you love immersive world-building, empowering characters, and epic battle scenes, you'll love The Last Faoii.

My take:

The Last Faoii is the first book in the series of the Faoii Chronicles written by Tahani Nelson and it's the most compelling and addictive book I have ever read.

I have always admired a book or a movie with a strong female character and from start to end, this book has it all. From action to mystery, from emotions to unknown family, from enemies to warriors, this book has it all making it mesmerizing story.

This book is based on a strong female warrior. Everything you have ever known about the warriors, the strength, the decision making, the lose, the victory, the suspense, the sacrifice, the doubts, achievements, growth, and self-awareness, this book The last Faoii has it all, a loveable character who will make a place in your hearth with her emotions and dedications.

The best thing that I liked the most about this story is the oath the warriors (Faoii) take. I m sure the author has given a lot of effort and thought behind it to make it so compelling. When I read it for the first time and the second and the third, continuing building something in me, as I read it for the last time, I got goosebumps and felt like the Faoii inside was risen. The suspense built and the way the story was moving are simply amazing, written in lucid language that will make you feel lost in the book.
