Author's Interview with Melody R. Green
Before we dive into our exciting conversation with today’s remarkable author, let’s start by getting to know the creative mind behind the diverse and captivating stories.
1. Could you please introduce yourself to us?
Hi, I'm Melody R. Green, an author living in Armidale, New South Wales, Australia.
2. Congratulations on your book! What inspired you to write it?
I am a professional tarot reader, psychic counsellor and life coach, and I wanted to write about the world I know.
3. What is your book about?
This is about Maggie McCready's adventures as a travelling tarot reader, travelling around the UK and doing her readings in tea shops. It's about who she meets, reads for and her relationship with Archangel Michael (and other archangels) as she assists them in the fight against the dark forces.
4. Why did you choose this genre for your book?
The genre is fantasy, mystery, thriller, with a touch of romance.
5. How long did it take you to complete the book?
I started writing the first book in the Omnibus in 2019 and released the Omnibus in November 2024. So I've lived with Maggie and her companions for 6 years now!
6. What makes your book special?
I wanted to show how humans can walk between the mundane and Spirit worlds with ease, and that often what we deal with in the every day has ramifications for our soul's journey.
7. When can we expect your next book?
The omnibus makes mention of many recipes as part of the adventures, and readers asked when I was going to release a cookbook of them. So my next book, due out in April 2025, is designed to give readers the recipes, plus how to bake spells into your baked goods and how to make your own wish bombs. It is a cookbook like no other!
8. Did you experience writer’s block while writing? What advice would you give to others who face it?
I'm very happy to say that the blank page is not an issue I have; rather, it is about having the time to get the story down clearly! However, when I need to clear my mind ready to write, I often bake! Doing some other creative activity gets the creative juices working better - and I would suggest this to other writers who might suffer from writer's block.
9. Besides being a talented author, what are your other hobbies?
I began my creativity as a performer - singing opera, caberet and jazz. As a result, music is very important to me, whether it be singing around the house or listening to music. I also like painting ( although I'm not very good at it) and of course watching plays etc. and when I get the time sewing!
10. Last but not least, how did you feel during this interview?
Thank you for the opportunity. I was happy to answer your questions.
