Author's Interview with Paris Voss

Before we dive into our exciting conversation with today’s remarkable author, let’s start by getting to know the creative mind behind the diverse and captivating stories.

1. Could you please introduce yourself to us?

Hi! I’m Paris Voss, a contemporary romance author with a passion for writing steamy billionaire romances filled with irresistible alpha heroes, strong-willed heroines, sizzling chemistry, and plenty of unexpected twists.

I love creating stories packed with my favourite tropes, including enemies to lovers, fake relationships, forced proximity, and grumpy billionaires who fall hard for the one woman they can't control.

When I'm not writing, I'm a busy mum of five, living in sunny Dubai with my family. I'm a hopeless romantic at heart, a lover of all things feminine and luxurious, and a firm believer that everyone deserves their own happily ever after.

My goal is simple: to give readers an addictive escape from everyday life, one swoon-worthy billionaire at a time! 

2. Congratulations on your book! What inspired you to write it?

Thank you so much! 

I've always loved billionaire romances, especially stories featuring powerful, emotionally guarded men who seemingly have everything until one woman comes along and turns their perfectly controlled world upside down!

I wanted to write a story that combined everything I love about romance: irresistible chemistry, witty banter, forced proximity, emotional vulnerability, and, of course, plenty of spice!

I especially love exploring what happens when two people who couldn't be more different are thrown together and discover that love is the one thing they can't plan for or control.

Ultimately, I wanted to create a book that readers could completely lose themselves in something that makes them laugh, swoon, blush, and stay up far too late turning the pages. Because for me, that's the magic of a really good romance!

3. What is your book about?

Stranded with My Protector is a steamy billionaire romance packed with fake dating, forced proximity, danger, secrets, and a deliciously grumpy, overprotective hero!

The story follows a fiercely independent woman fighting to save her struggling dog sanctuary and Rhett Stone, her best friend's older billionaire brother, who also happens to be the last man she'd ever want to fall for.

When someone deliberately runs her off the road, Rhett insists on keeping her safe under his roof. Throw in a fake relationship, a snowstorm that leaves them trapped together, and some seriously undeniable chemistry, and things quickly become complicated!

But just as their pretend relationship starts feeling dangerously real, secrets threaten to destroy everything they've built.

It's a story about learning to trust, letting down your walls, and discovering that sometimes the person you least expect is exactly the person you need.

Expect plenty of tension, sizzling chemistry, emotional twists, and, of course, a happily ever after! 

4. Why did you choose this genre for your book?

I've always been a hopeless romantic, so writing romance felt like the most natural thing in the world!

There's something incredibly addictive about billionaire romances. I love the fantasy, the luxury, the powerful heroes who are used to getting exactly what they want, and then watching them completely unravel when they meet a woman who refuses to play by their rules!

But for me, it's about so much more than wealth or glamorous lifestyles. I love exploring the vulnerability beneath those confident exteriors and showing that even someone who seemingly has everything can still be missing the one thing money can't buy genuine love.

I also adore the escapism that romance offers. Life can be hectic, and sometimes you just want to disappear into a world of gorgeous men, irresistible chemistry, a little drama, and plenty of spice!

Most importantly, I love knowing that no matter how complicated the journey gets, there's always a happily ever after waiting at the end. 

5. How long did it take you to complete the book?

It definitely took a while! Between juggling family life, being a mum of five, and all the other little things life throws at you, finding uninterrupted writing time can sometimes be a challenge!

For me, writing a book is so much more than just getting the words onto the page. There's the planning, developing the characters, creating that irresistible chemistry, and then the endless rounds of editing and polishing until everything feels just right.

I'm also a bit of a perfectionist, so I love taking the time to make sure the story delivers all the emotion, tension, and spice my readers expect.

But there's honestly no better feeling than finally holding a finished book and knowing that a story which started as a little idea in my head is now something readers can escape into! 

6. What makes your book special?

I think what makes Stranded with My Protector special is that it offers so much more than your typical billionaire romance.

Yes, there's a gorgeous, grumpy, ridiculously protective billionaire, plenty of sizzling chemistry, and all those deliciously addictive tropes we romance readers love! But beneath the spice and tension, there's a story about trust, vulnerability, and learning to let someone in when you've spent your life being fiercely independent.

I particularly love the dynamic between Rhett and the heroine. He's used to being in control, while she's determined to stand on her own two feet, and neither is prepared for just how deeply they'll fall for each other.

There's also a little suspense, some unexpected twists, a snowy Aspen setting, and an adorable Pomeranian who brings plenty of personality to the story!

Ultimately, I wanted to write something that gives readers all the butterflies and escapism of a steamy billionaire romance, while still making them genuinely care about the characters and their happily ever after. 

7. When can we expect your next book?

Very soon! 

I'm incredibly excited to announce that my next book, launches on Amazon on 7th December 2026!

It's the first book in my brand-new, interconnected billionaire romance series set against the glamorous backdrop of Dubai!

Think luxurious beachfront resorts, gorgeous billionaires, strong-willed heroines, fake relationships, irresistible chemistry, and plenty of secrets, drama, and spice!

The series will follow a whole cast of interconnected characters, so readers can expect familiar faces, overlapping storylines, and lots of opportunities to fall in love with their next favourite book boyfriend.

Even more excitingly, ARC readers will get exclusive early access a few weeks before release! I'm always looking for passionate romance readers who love discovering new books and sharing their thoughts.

8. Did you experience writer’s block while writing? What advice would you give to others who face it?

Absolutely! I think writer's block is something almost every author experiences at some point, and I'm definitely no exception!

For me, it's often less about running out of ideas and more about having so many ideas swirling around in my head that I struggle to decide which direction to take the story. And being a mum of five, sometimes it's simply finding the mental space to switch off from everyday life and immerse myself in my fictional world!

My biggest piece of advice is not to put too much pressure on yourself. Creativity can't always be forced, and sometimes stepping away from your manuscript is exactly what you need.

I find that going for a walk, reading a good romance, or even just having a change of scenery can help get those creative juices flowing again.

I'd also say don't be afraid to write something imperfectly. You can always go back and edit a messy first draft, but you can't edit a blank page!

Most importantly, remember why you started writing in the first place. For me, it's the love of storytelling and creating characters that readers can fall in love with. Sometimes reconnecting with that excitement is all it takes to get the words flowing again! 

9. Besides being a talented author, what are your other hobbies?

Thank you, that's so lovely of you to say! 

Outside of writing, my biggest passion is spending time with my family. As a mum of five, life is rarely quiet, and there's always something happening!

Living in Dubai, I absolutely love making the most of the sunshine, spending time at the beach, discovering beautiful restaurants and cafés, and exploring everything this incredible city has to offer.

I'm also a huge book lover (probably no surprise there!), and there's nothing better than getting completely lost in a romance novel with a gorgeous book boyfriend and a guaranteed happily ever after!

I have a real love for fashion, beautiful interiors, travel, and all things feminine and luxurious. I also enjoy being creative, whether that's working on new ideas, designing things, or finding inspiration in the world around me.

And when I do manage to steal a rare moment of peace, you'll probably find me with a coffee, dreaming up my next fictional billionaire! 

10. Last but not least, how did you feel during this interview?

I've absolutely loved it! 

It's been such a lovely opportunity to share a little more about myself, my writing journey, and the stories I'm so passionate about creating.

As an author, we spend so much time getting to know our fictional characters that it's actually quite refreshing to step out from behind the pages and talk about ourselves for a change!
